These are the rules for using Frank. We wrote them in plain words on purpose. If something here is unclear, text Frank and ask for a person, and we will explain it.

Who we are

Frank is made by Virtue, a Colorado limited liability company based in Boulder, Colorado. When these terms say "we" or "us," that means Virtue. When they say "you," that means the person who bought Frank and the people in the family who use him.

What Frank is

Frank is an AI assistant you reach by text message. He reads what you send him, including photos and screenshots, and answers in plain words. Frank is built and watched over by real people. When Frank is unsure about something, a person on our team looks at it, usually the same day.

What Frank is for, and what he is never for

• Frank helps you decide whether a message, call, letter, or email looks like a scam, and what to do next.
• Frank explains letters, bills, forms, notices, and phone settings.
• Frank helps you write messages and plan everyday things.
• Frank does not give medical, legal, tax, or investment advice. He can help you understand what a professional told you and prepare questions. He will always point you back to the professional.
• Frank is not an emergency service. If someone is in danger, call 911.
• Frank does not move money, log in to accounts, or contact anyone on your behalf.

Price and payment

Frank for the whole family costs $99 a year. That covers every parent and grandparent in one family group. Payment is handled by Whop, our checkout provider. Your plan renews each year on the date you bought it unless you cancel first. We will email you before each renewal.

Refunds and cancelling

• First 60 days. Full refund, no questions asked. Text Frank the word cancel.
• After 60 days. Text Frank the word cancel. We refund the unused part of your year, counted by the month.
• Refunds go back to the card you paid with, usually within 10 business days.

The $500 promise

We stand behind Frank. If Frank tells you something is safe, and it turns out to be a real scam that costs you money, we refund your year and send $500 to the parent who was affected. Here is how it works:

• The message, call, or letter must have been sent to Frank before you acted on it, and Frank must have said it was safe or real.
• You must tell us within 30 days of the loss, with the Frank conversation and a short description of what happened.
• One payment per family per year. The payment is $500 regardless of the size of the loss.
• The promise does not cover cases where Frank said something was a scam or said he was unsure, or where the conversation was edited.

We decide claims in good faith and we will tell you why if we say no.

Text messaging terms

• Frank works over iMessage, SMS, and RCS. Message and data rates from your carrier may apply.
• Frank replies when you text him. He sends at most one check in message on his own if he has not heard from you in two weeks, and one reminder before your plan renews.
• Text STOP to stop all messages. Text HELP for help. Text cancel to cancel your plan.
• Carriers are not responsible for delayed or undelivered messages.

Your part

• Only send Frank things you have the right to share.
• Do not use Frank to harass anyone, break the law, or try to make Frank do something harmful.
• You are responsible for the decisions you make. Frank helps you think. You decide.
• Frank is for adults. Children under 13 may not use Frank.

What we are responsible for

We will run Frank carefully, keep your information private as described in our privacy policy, and honor the refund and $500 promise above. Beyond that, Frank is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, our total responsibility to you for anything related to Frank is limited to the amount you paid us in the past 12 months, plus the $500 promise if it applies. We are not responsible for losses caused by things outside our control, including your carrier, your device, or third party services.

Changes

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will text you first. If you keep using Frank after that, the new terms apply. If you do not like a change, cancel and we refund the unused part of your year.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Colorado. If we have a disagreement, we will try to work it out directly first. If that fails, disputes go to the courts in Boulder County, Colorado.
